At UWC Costa Rica, our mission is clear:
to cultivate in young people the passion and ability to serve humanity and our planet—learning from nature and from each other for a lifetime. This guiding principle comes alive through a myriad of programs that encourage students to engage with their local and global communities. Among these, the monthly
Community Action Weekends stand out as powerful opportunities for students to make a meaningful impact while learning about the challenges and strengths of the communities around them.
What Are Community Action Weekends?
Community Action Weekends are monthly, one-day trips where students visit different communities to engage, learn, and collaborate. These events provide students with a firsthand understanding of local needs and allow them to contribute to meaningful projects that reflect UWC Costa Rica's values of service, sustainability, and collaboration.
