At UWC Costa Rica, the journey does not end at graduation. Guided by our principles of learning for a lifetime, the college is committed to supporting alums as they grow, thrive with purpose, and navigate higher education and early-career pathways.
This year marked the launch of our first-ever summer internship opportunities—a new benefit designed to empower our graduate community by providing professional experience and real-world skills.
Engagement Across Generations
The initiative saw high engagement across multiple cohorts, receiving 13 applications from alums representing the classes of 2016, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2025, and 2026. Following the selection process, three outstanding representatives from the classes of 2022 and 2026 were chosen to participate in technical and creative placements.
Engineering in Action: Nayana Gupta ‘26
Nayana Gupta ‘26 from India took on an Engineering Intern position, focusing on software development and teamwork within a collaborative environment: “The internship went great; everyone on the team was super nice, and it was very collaborative. I learned a lot in several different aspects. I worked on the front end to create a self-service platform for their customers and held weekly meetings to track my progress. My internship was only a month long, in which I also had training, so I didn’t have too much time to work on something big – but for the time I did have, I feel like it was well utilized”

We celebrate our alums: Nayana ‘26, MarÃa Paula ‘26, and Andre ‘22 for applying their talents across diverse fields.
