Two decades ago, a transformative educational vision took root in Santa Ana. What began as a bold experiment in experiential learning has become a global network of 1,645 alums learning for a lifetime and leading for change worldwide.
For 20 years, the Santa Ana campus was a home where lifelong friendships formed, diverse perspectives met, and personal growth unfolded. As UWC Costa Rica prepares to transition to its New Campus in San Isidro, the college is launching a year-long storytelling initiative to honor the places, views, and spaces that shaped generations of graduates.
Over the next year, the community can read, listen to, and enjoy alum reflections, oral histories, and archival memories. Wherever our campus moves, the heart of our intentional community travels with our people.
Reliving the Moments That Defined Our Journey
UWC Costa Rica’s story belongs to the 1,645 alums who brought Santa Ana to life. Through reflections, archives, and oral histories, this campaign highlights the spaces and experiences that shaped their two-year journey.
Alums remember the places where daily life unfolded—from late-night conversations in the residences to meals in Caff, study hours in the library, gatherings in the amphitheater, and moments on the cancha, in the greenhouse, or in Santa Ana.
Over the coming year, these stories will be shared across community channels, connecting two decades of living history from pioneer generations to recent graduates.

Preserving the living memory of Santa Ana is not just about looking back; it is about carrying our foundational identity into the institution’s next chapter. The insights, artwork, journal entries, and photos shared by graduates are actively shaping how the college honors its legacy in San Isidro.
