Living the UWC Pledge: Alums Giving Time, Talent, and Treasure
At UWC Costa Rica, learning does not stop at graduation. Guided by our core principles of learning for a lifetime and mutual reciprocity, our global network of graduates continues to find meaningful ways to stay connected and give back to our campus community. Central to this ongoing relationship is the UWC Pledge, a global initiative inviting alums and families to contribute their Time, Talent, and Treasure to support the next generation of agents of change.

Over recent months, several alums returned to campus, offering their skills and energy to enrich student life and preserve our institutional memory.
Honoring 20 Years of Impact: Fabiana’25 and Lucia’25
As UWC Costa Rica prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary and commemorate the 1,645 alums who have shaped our history, Fabiana Lopez’25 and Lucia Villegas’25 visited campus to lay the groundwork for a special visual project. The duo is developing a 5-to-6-minute mini-documentary that captures the essence of our global alum network. Through personal interviews with graduates across different generations paired with everyday scenes of campus life, the project explores a central question: What does it mean to remain part of UWC after graduation?
By blending personal reflections with familiar campus spaces, this initiative connects two decades of living history. Keep an eye out for upcoming announcements, as Fabina’25 and Lucia’25 will soon be reaching out to the broader community for support and interview contributions.
Empowering Student Journalists: Richard’13
In preparation for upcoming Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, Richard Blaser’13 shared his professional expertise with current students taking on international press roles.

Richard’13 led interactive training sessions on journalism fundamentals, effective article structure, headline writing, and media ethics. By sharing practical insights and analyzing real-world news examples, he helped student reporters build confidence before stepping into diplomatic committee coverage.
