On Saturday, August 24th, students from the Technical Professional College (CTP) of San Isidro de Heredia participated in an intensive Changemakers workshop led by students from UWC Costa Rica.

A total of 35 students from San Isidro received this training designed to empower young people and equip them with the tools to become agents of change in their communities. Participants explored leadership, conflict resolution, sustainability, and global citizenship topics.

“We believe that investing in the education and development of our youth is the most important investment we can make. Through initiatives like this, we aim to inspire students to become compassionate leaders committed to the well-being of others,” commented Luis Abarca, Director of the Co-Curricular Area at UWC Costa Rica.

6 UWC Costa Rica students facilitated the Changemakers workshop from 8 am to 3:30 pm.

Some of the activities included:

  • Interactive workshops: Students participated in group dynamics and practical activities that fostered critical thinking and collaboration.
  • Project presentations: Students had the opportunity to present their innovative ideas and projects to address community challenges.
“This workshop, in the context of a technical professional college, is linked to the development of life and work skills established in the study programs of the technical careers offered at our educational center. For this reason, we thank UWC Costa Rica for the opportunity to be part of this learning experience,” said Adrián Granados, Director of the CTP of San Isidro.
