The UWC mission to make education a force to unite is the center that grounds our movement and unites us all as a global community committed to peace and a sustainable future. As a student at UWC Costa Rica, you will gain tools and experiences to help you become your best self and empower you to be an agent of positive change. As alum, you will find your unique way to turn all that you learned at UWC Costa Rica into practice. You will make a positive difference in your community and the world through empathy, integrity, a commitment to the UWC values, and your vision and idealism for a better future.

Philanthropy at UWC Costa Rica

UWC Costa Rica is a registered, non-profit organization in Costa Rica, and donations are one of its primary revenue sources. To maintain its daily operations and provide accessibility and scholarships to as many of the student population as possible, the Development Area promotes a philanthropy culture among its community to give back to the movement.

We are proud of our growing list of partners and alliances that help us put our mission into practice, and with yearly reports and constant updates on our website and social media, we maintain our transparency as an organization and our community.

Your UWC Pledge

As you can see, a community of giving is at the heart of the UWC experience. Thousands invest their Time, Talent, and Treasure to continue strengthening our movement.

The UWC Pledge invites students, families, and alums to give what they can to ensure UWC continues spreading its mission to make education a force for unity.

Even the smallest contribution makes a big difference! For example, our scholarship program ensures that at least 70% of UWC Costa Rica students receive the financial aid they need, thanks to our 300+ annual donors, who give anywhere from $5 to $250,000.

This is why, as you start your UWC journey, we invite you to join our giving community. In your admissions checklist, you will find 2 optional forms where you, students, and families can sign your UWC Pledge and select the ways you want to give your Time, Talent, and Treasure to strengthen UWC. This form will remain available throughout your journey at UWC Costa Rica, and you can join anytime.

As students, families, and alums, our giving inspires others to support UWC Costa Rica. The more of us give, the stronger the message we send as a community that UWC Costa Rica is worth investing in.
